Time to document the vocabulary

Exactly a year ago, I documented some of the most adorable first words/sentences of A baby.  A year has passed.. and its time for the performance review! Every mom longs to hear that first word from their little ones. But, there is also a point when every mom longs for some "silence" and goes “shhhhh chumma iru” (translation: shhhh keep quiet).  This writer is not exactly in that situation “all the time", but can already see a couple of glimpses before nap time and bed time specifically when she says "yes, the chatty period for today is done sweet heart, it is QUIET time now". We even received a comment from an outsider once -- "Oh, little A, you're a chatterbox, aren’t you?". That comment made us smile..no..laugh that day.  Over to the documentation now. A's.. Most-popular sentences Acknowledge  Aama (yes, acknowledgment, okay) for most of the things he is asked for. (yes, as a mom/woman I like it when someone acknowledges..go A!) ...

New(s)

Why rock a nicely sailing ship? Sometimes, when we "think" we need a change-- it is almost always one of the following. 1- YOU are getting old 2- YOU are getting old And.. then there are a million reasons connected to the above, of course. A change is a constant -- heard this a million times? This is in fact true IMO because we are mostly dealing with these dynamic homosapiens. Whether a change is good or bad is a mystery. But, sometimes you just need to let go and explore with no (In human terminology-- minimum) expectations. Whether the journey or the destination makes you smile or frown can be beyond you. But, the numerous lessons learned while introducing a change are lessons for a life time indeed. How do I feel at this moment? 1- Jigsaw: Like my toddler receiving a new jigsawpuzzle, questionable, yet hopeful. 2- Peek-a-boo: Ready or not, here I come. 3- Separation anxiety: Like my 4-legged that panics when I am gone for 4 minutes to get the trash tote...

Motherhood

You go the extra mile to better yourself..... because  someone is gleaning from your life experiences.  .......... Motherhood is all about striving to motivate the little one unconditionally. .......... Little things can change your life. Little beings become your life. ............ 24/7 video surveillance -Motherhood 😊 ............. Time to record the chat ================== A: Amma, why are your lips red?  Me: lipstick baby, do you like it? A: yes it looks nice ☺️ .............. A: ( Amma comes back from a work trip) Amma, I miss you too much. I love-ooooo .............. When siblings bond, parents feel special.  A: GG, it’s okay. I am right here. Don’t be scared (when Jill is scared of thunderstorms) ..............

The still clock

A chaotic travel day with 6+ hour flight delay for a 4+ hour flight. But, the longest hour of the day was the last hour in a short connecting flight — all alone.   Together, time flies.  Separation makes the clock stand still. She didn’t have the courage to bid him good bye. She didn’t want him to feel any worse. She didn’t have the heart to leave. She didn’t have the heart to lose. She once dreamt of something. She made a promise. All she did was to follow just one transient dream with no heart towards the end. All she did was to put her first for once. Should I be happy to feel sad while I’m away?—-a gift to feel the happiest when I’m around you.  Should I teach you to thrive without me? Should I feel miserable as I type all this? To die with guilt is a saying for real.  Will she die again remains a mystery.

Learn

To learn is to understand better, To learn is to glean from available data, To learn is to be equipped to forecast better, To learn is an infinite process. Some form of a Eureka moment is all that takes to work out those brain cells.

Tomorrow always comes

My today is mostly dedicated to planning for tomorrow , in the hope that this would alleviate tomorrow's stress. But, tomorrow always comes.. and my running never stops, for good or for worse. Are we all living or just breathing? That heartbeat you hear at the 10 weeks mark is magical. What YOU do to keep that heart beating - is beyond magical - That is life. Bring in miracles, bring in joy, Cry a little, laugh a little, grow a little, Make every heart beat count. Believe in yourself, believe in a super power.

It’s never enough :-)

Quarrels, complaints and chaos— more often result from an innate human nature of “comparison”.  A perfect man may still be an object of a woman’s whining because the man is no longer compared to another father or a husband, but is compared to another woman/mother/wife— why not?!  She is lucky to even coin the above. She is blessed to have one that acknowledges this beside her. She says..... When my son becomes a feminist (in my dictionary, i.e, to a reasonable degree that aligns with my basic beliefs) one day,  I’ll stop whining....... maybe.  When the term “working woman” is no longer used Or  When the term “working man” starts getting exercised,  I’ll stop whining.....maybe When stereotyping fades away,  I’ll stop whining....maybe When one of the most powerful nations elects a woman president,  I’ll stop whining....may be It’s never enough....a smart, sensible and a reasonable gender  defect.  Happy International Women’s  day!...
