Language under construction

About a decade ago, I documented some of the cutest moments with my niece as she began "talking". Here's one documenting little A's first set of words (was in my blog draft months ago) and sentences (going live).

As you read this, you should imagine a DISTINGUISHED toastmaster telling you all this with perfect hand gestures, facial expressions and voice modulations.  Yes, you will soon acknowledge that "this will soon be added to the official thesaurus.. yes a language under construction indeed)

Wow.. the list (will be updated) is a bit more. But, seriously, why do we have several hundreds of words to convey the same meaning. It seems like a toddler language is good enough to lead a peaceful life.
